Hooters of Nottingham were hosting another epic American car show. Mixture of sunny weather, sizzling BBQ and a great turn our of aerican metal made a great Sunday afternoon.
Since the beginning of the summer Mark Lunn was working hard in association with americauk.com, Ignition shows and Hooters of Nottingham to create a regular american car shows which took place on every first Thursday of the month. This time it was a little bit different as it is middle of the summer and everyone want a bit of holiday feeling the show was held on lazy Sunday afternoon. We’re not quite sure how Mark managed to book even the weather but it was just great. The only downside was … the size of the car park. A lot of people aimed to combine the event at Hooters with the following event organised by Cloud9Cars at Frankie and Benny’s so the space in front of Hooters filled up very quickly…
Despite the limited space, Chris managed to get his awesome and massive Cadillac lowrider in. Our regular readers will know that we have a soft spot for lowriders but you might not know that we were chasing Chris up for a photoshoot of this lowrider for a very long time … so it won’t be a surprise that as soon as we spotted the car we quickly jumped in to get a few shots…
Cadillac wasn’t just parked up as a static display, despite the limited space the beast managed to get some careful hops to please the crowd and …
… and once there was some more space we managed to convince Chris to give the hydraulics some proper work out, exclusively for Shadow media …
Just to mention, the Cadillac is currently for sale to make room for another project. If you want that machine in your life, drop us a line and we’ll put you in touch with the owner :)
To stay in Cadillac theme, we would like to present the pink(-ish) 1959 Eldorado Coupe in immaculate condition was the Best Of The Show winner. To be fair, we’re not surprised as everything on this car looked like better than at the time it rolled or rather sailed out from the factory.
Although even in ‘Donnie Brasco’ movie there was huge argument Cadillac vs Lincoln (which Cadillac won … fugedaboutit) … we say Lincolns are just as cool. The Continental below is a perfect example of awesome Lincs, full size land yacht with interior more comfy (and probably bigger) than your average sofa, cool design and a lot of chrome. We approve.
The show hosted a star, at least in our eyes as we grew up in the 80’s. The Knightrider himself made an appearance bringing the original KITT, driven by ‘The Hoff’ in the movie.
’67 ‘Big Red’ Camaro looked good as usual.
‘Lil Big Block’ Mopar cruised from far away to join other muscles at the meet. Cool name for a super cool car.
Staying in muscle car zone, we have to give a mention to orange Corvette t-top. It looked tiny in comparison to the questionable humvee …
We approached this car carefully, hoping to see Impala but afraid to be fooled with Bel Air. But it appeared to be all original, fully rebuilt 1960 Impala 4 door. We had a brief chat with the owner who had this car for well over 10 years now. We understand it as we wouldn’t be able to part with this beauty as well.
Modern muscle cars were represented by the Dominator, which was a supercharged Mustang with bad ass bodykit with lots of references to the GT500 Eleanor.
Matt black Plymouth had a very colorful interior theme … we would love to cruise around in this wearing massive sombreros and munching on burritos. Great car :)
Rat rod Unloved was an opposite to all the shiny cars on display, almost like the car that is straight back from hell (only because the hell was full). We are not sure if we fully understand the rat rod style but the Unloved makes us want one.
Classic Harley-Davidson caught our eye … not just an average ‘chopper’.
From the oddballs, apart from the monster Hummer we featured in the last report we saw a massive tow truck. It might be just us but it looked like straight fom GTA V game and was very, very popular.
Girls from Hooters also loved the blue Dodge Ram … and no, we don’t know why either.
To sum up, we enjoyed afternoon out in the sun, great cars, friendly people … hopping the lowrider and listening to the big engines revving. We are already looking forward to the next show.
