Over 400 cars turned up for one of the best in Europe and definitely the biggest event dedicated to stance in Poland. Super-clean cars, good music and friendly people from around the world … what’s not to like ?
Once again Wroclaw became the stanced capital of Europe thanks to the Raceism crew. All the preparations and hard work which took just over 6 months paid off as the event attracted participants not only from the whole Poland but the whole Europe and beyond. As in 2013 the event took place in Wroclaw and the venue of choice was Communal football stadium which provides a lot of space for displaying vehicles, having fun and party. The hosts took care of good music selection, inviting hip hop and rap stars like KRS One, it was definitely a nice change from the usual electronic sounds in the background of most car-related events.
So why the ‘stance’ is so trending? We think it’s because people got tired of flamboyant and badly fitted bodykits, vinyl wraps, tribals, aftermarket ‘lexus look’ lights, lambo doors and neons … the ‘clean look’ is the way forward. And to be fair we do agree with that, less is more and some cars really don’t need that much work to look awesome … Just do whatever you need to do with bodykit/interior and get it to immaculate condition, lay it low, put some cool wheels and that’s it. Simple and effective.
What we also enjoy about this whole community is that it is above the conflicts between hardcore fans of cars from given manufacturer or country. It’s rare these days that you would see ie. JDM cars together with German cars or classics and exotics at the same event without imminent flame war between the fan-boys. In terms of stance it simply doesn’t matter what do you drive, it’s how well you modify the car and how you take care of it. It’s all about passion.
There was an element of competition at the event too … the panel of judges from Germany, Poland, Russia, Sweden, Switzerland and USA were choosing the best of the show. The decision must have been tough as there was around 400 cars to choose from … additionally the panel decisions were explained in open discussions with participants and spectators. In this way everyone could get to know the judges better and have a flavour of what is the essence of the ‘stance’.
The other competitions involved some serious measurements and number crunching as lowest, widest and the most slammed cars were about to be picked up. Sweet Honda CRX got two of those awards (lowest and slammed) and as for the widest car Lexus IS200 had no competitors.
To wrap up we have to say we thoroughly enjoyed those two days and we’re looking forward to the next year’s edition. Seeing how the event grows, 2015 edition will be properly mad. Can’t wait!!
