HiQ Mansfield organised the first meet of JDM cars and fans of 2015 … we would like to call it … the ice breaker as it was not only the first meet at HiQ and first meet of 2015 season but also it was ablsolutely freezing!
Although it looks sunny in the pictures it was actually freezing cold … that didn’t stop people from all over East Midlands to join the first meet of JDM East group in the 2015. The meeting was held at HiQ Mansfield which is a cool location quite far away from private houses so not many people would complain about noise. That comes handy as a lot of supercar killers and drift weapons showed up, from various generations of Skylines, through Mazda Rx7 to Mitsubishi Evos … and those firebreathing beasts are not quiet. Thanks to HiQ anyone could roll in the workshop, get some work done or chat with the experts about mods and possible improvements. Laura Purdie was there too with the burger van, trying to keep everyone alive by serving hot drinks and food. We were kindly invited by two usual suspects if it comes to JDM gigs in Nottingham … Neil with his S15 and Adrian with the LOLrel :)
And all we asked for was a smile to the camera …
Awesome Mazda Rx7 caught our eye immediately. Respect for keeping the rotary instead of swapping for lazy v8 !!
‘Dude I almost had you!’ – that sticker made us smile :) ps. do you like the tuna here?
Cool Lexus is always an eyecandy… thanks for waiting few extra moments for us to take few snaps !!
Since we’re at the 4door pimp cars … spare a minute looking at this drift weapon, Mark II Tourer V (JZX90):
Take a family saloon car, add 4wd, powerfull engine and you have almost legendary rally car … we absolutely loved that evil Evo!
And now ladies and gentleman it’s godzilla time! Let’s start from the oldest model that showed up, the mighty R32 …
There was quite a selection of heavier but still agile R33 … which one would you pick?
And the last but not least the R34, last proper Nissan Skyline (bearing in mind that r35 does not come with the actual SKYLINE badge).
Almost like a forgotten species … the 300zx are still cool and pretty quick cars !
Some of the really hot hatches were hiding in the shadow of the big power japanese muscles …
In contrast to all fast, hi-tech JDM cars the big Escalade looked really ugly and heavy and just out of it’s comfort zone …
We regret that we joined the gathering later than planned … almost when we rolled in a lot of people started to wrap up hence there is a lot missing. BUT the good news is if that it was just a season opener, we can’t wait for the next meet!
